East Cavan Gaels GAA: East Cavan Gaels Hurling Club News 27th  May 2024

Senior/county squads;

A disappointing end to the season with the defeat to Longford ultimately costing us a place in the Lory Meagher Cup final despite the imperious 7-19 scored v Leitrim was to prove futile as we lost out on the head to head rule. Still it has been an exceptional season for the county side with every game in both league and championship very entertaining and exciting and the retention of the higher division in the league bodes well for the 2025 season. Well done to all our East Cavan Gaels men for all of their efforts throughout the season. Now the focus returns to club action with Monday training in Killinkere with some challenge games lined up as they prepare for the big test as they partake in the Monaghan Senior League for the very first time starting in June. Commiserations to our Seniors who lost out in the Ulster Spring league final v a good Lisbellaw side recently in what was a very competitive outing for the lads.

U8/10/12/14/16/18;

Our Tain Og squad, a mixture of our U14s and U16s, will continue to get games as they go over the summer months. They had a good match v Belnaleck from Fermanagh last week while our county men played well when playing Leitrim recently..

Under 12/14/16 club training will now move to Mondays at 6pm in Killinkere.

The U12s had a good blitz recently on the 3G and the Monaghan league will begin on June 9th v Cootehill.

Under 8 and under 10s continue each Wednesday on the astro at Bailieboro Celtic soccer astro.

The week ahead;

Wednesday; U8/10 training 7-8pm astro at Bailieboro Celtic AFC.

Thursday; Seniors v Wolfe Tones at 8pm.

East Cavan Gaels GAA: Hurling Club News 6th May 2024

Senior/county squads; A massive week ahead for the county seniors as they prepare for what is ostensibly an All Ireland semi final in their penultimate group game v Longford in the Lory Meagher Cup on Saturday. With Longford also needing a win this could very well be the match of the season so far and we encourage all supporters to get to Kingspan Breffni on Saturday to support the lads.

Club seniors have a big week also as they play Erne Gaels on Thursday on the 3G in the semi final of the Spring League. With our application to play in the Monaghan Senior league successful it promises to be another good season ahead.
