Féile na nGael 2015;
What an incredible weekends celebration of hurling in Bailieborough and Kingscourt. Well over a thousand people passed through the gates of both venues from counties Cavan, Monaghan, Sligo, Mayo, Roscommon, Louth and Wicklow. Our lads did the club proud in their four games against good opposition and gave as good as they got in some pulsating matches. Our guests for the weekend, Caiseal Gaels from Mayo also had a great weekend of Breffni hospitality. There are a huge amount of people to thank for this event being such a success and we will get to thank them individually over the weeks ahead but for now please take our grateful thanks for whatever role you may have played over the weekend and indeed in the weeks and months in advance in preparation of the event. We must though give special thanks and praise to Kathryn O’Flynn and Sharon Daly and their team for their outstanding event management and suffice to say the event would not have went as well as it did without their leadership, planning and organisational skills.
Thanks also to both our GAA partners Bailieborough Shamrocks and Kingscourt Stars for having their grounds in pristine condition for such a prestigious competition.
‘Bailieborough Agricultural Show 2015 to be held on July 4th 2015’:
Come along in 70’s dress to be claimed best dressed man/woman on the day to celebrate the theme of ‘Then and Now’. Other attractions on the day include the Macra na Feirme national farm skills challenge semi-finals, vintage displays, trade stands and lots more! Bring your pony along for the new

Bailieborough Celtic A.G.M:
The Annual General Meeting of Bailieboro Celtic Soccer Club will take place in the club’s Clubrooms on Thursday, 25th June 2015 at 8.30pm.

The 20k Drop:
Bailieborough Shamrocks GAA present ‘The 20k Drop’ in the Bailie Hotel on Friday 26th June at 8.30pm. Ticket are priced at €15 and are available from any committee member or they can be purchased at the door. On the night 8 participants are selected from the audience. Each receives €2,500 in cash and simply place your cash on the correct answer to win. This is sure to be a good night’s entertainment. All welcome.
Red Cross: Annual Senior’s ‘Tea Party’:
The annual Red Cross Rambling House Senior’s Tea Party takes place on Wednesday 1st July in the Bailie Hotel, Bailieborough at 6.30pm. Red Cross members will issue tickets in the usual way. Bailieborough Walking Group:
Wednesday, June 24th: Dun A Ri, Kingscourt. Easy walk—1 hour. Moderate walk—1 hour 30 mins. Depart from Bailieborough Library at 6.45pm. Walks commence at Shercock Road entrance to Dun A Ri at 7.15pm. All welcome.
Legion of Mary:
The local ‘Legion of Mary’ meets each Monday night at 8.00pm in the Community Centre. New members are always welcome and encouraged to attend.

Birdwatch Ireland:
Birdwatch Ireland are looking for records of breeding Curlew this summer. Farmers with breeding Curlew on their lands may be eligible for GLAS. Francis Skeffington was born in 1878 in Bailieborough.

Walk, Jog Or Run…. Exercising Is FUN! Every Monday and Wednesday evenings at 8pm join us at Bailieborough Community Centre! All welcome—no matter what your fitness levels are!. Ok folks, join us to run, jog or walk and most importantly tea, biscuits, fruit and chat afterwards.
East Cavan Gaels: U6/8/10;
The lads had a good workout at Cloghan blitz on Wednesday last. Training as normal in both venues this week. Monster training blitz next week in Bailieborough.
U12/14/16;The Under 16s play Monaghan Harps on the 6th July.
During July there will be Under 11 and Under 13 hurling blitzes on alternate Wednesdays. The Under 14 tri-county league will begin in August.
School holidays;
With most schools finishing up this coming week we would like to thank our local schools for continuing to support local hurling development this past year and extend an invitation to all boys to try hurling with us over the summer. New players are always very welcome at any time of the year.

Bailieborough group; Friday 6-7.30 at the Community School pitch.

Charity Event:
The Cavan Kayakarun are hosting a charity event on Friday next June 26th at Gallonray House Maudabawn Cootehill at 7pm. It consists of a 5k run or walk or a cycle with two routes 30k and 60k. All proceeds will go to Aoibheann’s Pink Tie Charity which is a charity that assists and helps families and their children who are going through the traumas and pain of cancer. It will be a fun evening with refreshments afterwards and donations are welcome. Adventure Camps:
Tanagh Outdoor Adventure Camps are open and almost full. Please don’t leave it to the last minute. We have already closed some of the adventure camps. Contact Philomena on 049-5552988 for more information. Participation is open to anyone between the ages of 9-16 years. We provide FREE bus service from local camp pick up points.
