Harvest Service:
A Harvest Service will take place in Breaky Hall (just off the Bailieborough—Kingscourt Road) on Sunday evening next, October 25th at 8.00pm. The Preacher will be Edmund Smyth, supper served and all are welcome to attend.
Winter Training:
Cavankayakrun winter cycling training taking place every Sunday morning from the Market Square, Bailieborough at 9am. This training will continue during the winter, weather permitting for all interested. All levels welcome.
Bailieborough Red Cross:
The Bailieborough Branch of the Irish Red Cross will hold Church Gates collections outside of St Bridget’s, Tunnyduff, on Saturday 24th, October and Sunday, 25th October and St. Patrick’s, Maudabawn on Sunday, 25th. All donations gratefully received.
Americian Civil War Exhibition
An exhibition depicting aspects of the American Civil War will be on display at Bailieborough Library until Thursday October 29th and is open for all to view during Library opening hours. The war was such an all-encompassing event that the exhibition can only touch on aspects of the conflict. Topics covered include: the country before the war, growth of population, acquisition of territory, economic growth, causes of war, overview of battles, Matthew Brady (war photographer), Irish involvement including Cavan men, and the aftermath. All welcome.
First Communion and Confirmation Parents
A meeting for parents/guardians of children receiving First Communion and Confirmation in 2016 from the National schools in Shercock and Bailieborough will take place on Thursday, October 29th at 7.30pm in St. Annes Church, Bailieborough. The principal speaker will be Ms Orla Walsh, the Deputy Principal in St. Vincent’s Secondary School, Dundalk. The parish Confirmation date is April 23rd, 2016, while First Communion dates have yet to be confirmed.
Children’s Halloween Party:
A ‘Halloween Children’s Party’—hosted by Knockbride Macra na Feirme—will take place on Bank Holiday Monday, October 26th in Tunnyduff Hall commencing at 3.00pm. Bring along all the kids for an afternoon of ‘spooktacular’ fun!! Entry fee €5 and all are most welcome.
Bailieborough Cancer Comfort Ltd:

Round Table Quiz:
The Bailieborough Masonic Lodge are hosting a ‘Round Table Quiz’ on Friday, November 6th, commencing at 8.30pm, in the Masonic Hall, Market Square. All welcome.

Annual Sponsored ‘Dog Walk’:
The annual sponsored ‘Dog Walk’ in aid of CSPCA will take place on this Saturday 24th, October, starting at 12 o clock from Bailieboro Vetinary Clinic, Kells road. Free entry for all who attend the walk into a draw for two tickets to “The Night Joe Dolans Car Broke Down”. Tickets for this raffle are now available at Bailieboro vet clinic and sponsorship cards can be collected. Refreshments and face painting will be available on the day. All welcome.
Bailieborough Development Association:
Bailieborough Development Association will be holding their Annual General Meeting at 8.00pm on Wednesday, November 11th at Bailieborough Business Centre, Shercock Road, Bailieborough. All welcome to attend.
St. Vincent De Paul, Clothes Shop:
The St. Vincent de Paul Clothes Shop will be open each Saturday morning from 10.00 am to 1pm. The conference is grateful for all donations of good quality clothing, footwear, household and bed linen and we look forward to your continued support.
Bailieborough Heritage Society:
A lecture entitled ‘Bailieborough, Remembering the Great War, Locally and Nationally’ by Patrick Hugh Lynch will take place in Bailieborough Library on Thursday November 5th. Commencing at 7.30pm. All are welcome.
‘My Fair Lady’:
Bailieborough Community School will present their annual musical and this year it is to be ‘My Fair Lady’ from Wednesday, October 21st to Saturday, October 24th in the Community School. There are a limited amount of tickets available for certain nights and to book tickets please call 087 461 8432 as soon as possible.
Class of ’85 Reunion:
A reunion of the Leaving Cert class of 1985, including all those who were first years in Lourdesville or the Vocational school in Bailieboro in 1980, will be held on Saturday, 14th November in the Bailie Hotel. Those who started in Lourdesville or The ‘Tech’ in 1980 are invited to attend the reunion.
A Mass for deceased class members will be held in St. Anne’s Church at 7pm.

Garda vetted volunteers with identification are ready to assist and help the elderly in our community. If you have gardening jobs, hedge and grass cutting, tidying up or ant type of small repairs to get done then ‘Lend A Hand’, is at your doorstep. Please note that Baptisms take place on Saturdays at 4.30pm and Sundays at 12.30pm.

East Cavan Gaels GAA Club – Hurling News 19th October 2015
Under 6/8/10; Indoor hurling continues every Thursday in Kingscourt Community Centre and Friday in Bailieborough Community School Sports Hall.
Under 12; Commiserations to our U12s who put up a great display against Cootehill in Championship final on Wednesday last on the 3G at Breffni Park. Only a puck of the ball in it at the end. The U13 league will begin in a couple of weeks.
After school hurling; Cavan GAA and Ulster GAA are providing five weeks of indoor after school hurling in Bailieborough Community School Sports Hall each Thursday from 4-5pm for those in 4th, 5th and 6th class. The cost for the five weeks is just €5 and all existing players and those who would like to try hurling are especially welcome.
Under 14; The next round of tri-county is scheduled for next weekend.
Under 16/18; Our Under 16s got the Championship up and running with a comprehensive win against a youthful Ballymachugh side in Kingscourt on Sunday.

Thursdays at Kingscourt Community Centre. Under 6/8 from 6.45-7.45 and Under 10 from 6.45-8.15. €2 each please.
Bailieborough group; Fridays – Under 6/8 from 6-7pm. Under 10 from 7-8pm in Bailieboro Community School Sports Hall. €2 each please.
Both sessions are open to anyone from the region to attend.
