Bailieborough Commumity School: Bailieborough Community School presents ‘Joy to the World Christmas Concert’ on Wednesday, December 18th in St. Anne’s Church at 7.30pm, featuring Bailieborough Community School Choir with special guests, Eileen Coyle (Soprano), Brendan McCahey and the ‘Hardtimes Chorus’ Choir. Tickets are €10 adults and €5 Child. Proceeds to St. Anne’s, The Model Primary School and Bailieborough Community School. All welcome.

Christmas  Masses at St. Annes: Christmas Eve: Tuesday, December 24th: Chrildren’s Mass at 6.00pm.

Midnight Mass at 12pm.

Christmas Day: Wednesday, December 25th : Mass at 10.00am.

A Christmas Penitential Service will take place in St. Annes on Monday next , December 23rd at 7.30pm. Individual Confessions will be heard on Christmas Eve from 12pm to 2.00pm. Individual Confessions are also available each Saturday in St. Annes at 12.30pm, between now and Christmas.

Bridge resumes on Tuesday, the 7th January 2020.

Bridge takes place in the Hotel Bailie on every Tuesday evening and new members are always most welcome.

Bailieborough Presbyterian Church Group: Services for the Christmas season are as follows: Sunday, December 22nd: United Service, Trinity at 10.30am and Corraneary at 12 noon.

Sunday Dec 29th : United Service in Trinity at 11am.

Regretted Death: Deepest Sympathy is extended to husband Ger on the death of his wife  Sadie (Sarah) Hannon (née Bell), Kevin Street, Tinahely, Wicklow and formerly of Bailieborough, who passed away peacefully, in the loving and tender care of all the staff at Baltinglass Hospital on Friday, December 6th.

Loving sister of Lexie, Molly, Jean, and the late Anna, Joe, Billy, Ben, John, Sam and Victor. Deeply regretted by her loving husband, brother, sisters, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, also Caroline, Maureen and Elaine, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends. Sadie’s Funeral Service took place  in Kilcommon Church, Tinahely, on Sunday, December 8th  with burial afterwards in the adjoining churchyard.

Industrious Bailieborough: The book ‘Industrious Bailieborough is now available for sale, in Kevin Smiths and Halls on Main St. and Smiths Shop at Galbolie.  The book costs  10 and would make a terrific Christmas present!

Anyone who wishes to purchase a copy of ‘Industrious Bailieborough’ and have it posted to any location worldwide can pay by cheque or PayPal. Approximate postage cost is 4 within Ireland and 6 to the U.K. The book costs 10.

Christmas Walk: Bailieborough Walking Group are hosting a ‘Charity Walk’ on Saturday,  28th  December 2019, commencing at 11.00am at the Bailieborough Developement Association Offices, Shercock Rd, Bailieborough. Walking around the Castle Lake. All proceeds to 2 local charities – Bailieborough Mental Health and Bailieborough Cancer Comfort Fund. Tea/Coffee and mince pies after walk. All welcome.

Deepest Sympathy: Deepest Sympathy is extended to sons Séamus (London), Vincent (Galway), Gerrard (Kingscourt), Enda (Cormeen Lower), Martin (Drogheda), Michael (Carrickmaccross), Hubert (Cormeen Lower), daughter Mary (Newcastle), daughters in law, son in law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family, neighbours and friends on the death of  Mary (Maisie) Carolan (nee Callaghan) and formerly Heery, Cormeen Lower Mullagh, Kells, Co Meath, who passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family in the Mater Hospital, Dublin on Friday, December 6th. Mary was predeceased by her husbands Michael Heery and Michael Carolan, her daughter Madeline and son Brendan. Mary’s Funeral Mass took place in St Mary’s Church, Newcastle on Monday, December 9th  with burial afterwards in Moynalty Cemetery.

Christmas Day Swim: This year is the 26th Christmas Day Swim in Bailieborough Town Lake. Over the years, many groups have benefited from the proceeds collected.  We are hoping that some of those who previously took part in the swim will return to celebrate the 26th along with many new swimmers. Citizen’s Information: The service takes place every Tuesday from 1.30pm to 2.30pm in the Library— providing information, advice and advocacy supports to everyone on Social welfare, employment, Pensions, Health, Tax etc… No appointment necessary.

Congratulations and Well Done: Congratulations to the Bailieborough Community School’s U14 Boys team who defeated Colàiste Oiriall on Thursday last, in the Ulster semi final (2.19 to 5.03). Well done boys and coaches, Mr. Reilly and Mr. Donohue.

An evening of Poetry and Music for the Christmas Season:

Presented by the COHAW Chamber Choir Directed by Rev. Florence Taylor with accompanist Cleona Hartley Brennan, with guests the O Sullivans sisters , string Trio and Tony Mc Mahon, Saxophonist in All Saints Parish Church, Cootehill on Saturday, 28th December, 2019 at 7.30 pm.

Bailieborough Library: The Craft Group are still going strong with many great memories and hopefully more to come! Not just a craft group, but a place to come, have a cuppa, learn new talents, make new friends and feel very welcome. Everyone is welcome every Friday morning drop in from 10am to 1pm!

Christmas Lights Vehicle Parade in aid of the Vincey McGee Benefit Fund, Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust, Aisling Brady and Specialist Palliative Care- Nobby McMahon Fund: Sunday 22nd December at 5pm in Cavan Town.
