Bailieborough Mental Health Association: Annual Quiz

The Bailieborough Mental Health Association’s Annual Round Table Quiz Night will be taking place in the Bailie Hotel, Ballroom at 8.30pm sharp on Friday next, 17th February, 2017.  “A fun night for young and old”                                      Teams of 4 for €40. Special ‘Early Bird’ round for Extra points if you arrive on time!! “A Healthy Mind in a Healthy Body’!! All welcome.

 

Doodle 4 Google Competition: Vote for Michella

Michella Cundelan, a sixth class pupil in St. Felim’s National School (The Vale) is a finalist in her category in the National Doodle 4 Google Competition. The Theme of the competition was ‘If I could create anything it would be…’ and Michella’s doodle brilliantly illustrates her hope for peace in the world. Winners are chosen from an online public vote. Please support this very talented girl and our school by voting online on the Doodle 4 Google website. Grandparents Mass

Tomorrow, Thursday 17th the 9.30am morning Mass will be offered for all the grandparents in the Parish. The children from St. Anne’s N.S. will attend.

Deepest Sympathy

Deepest Sympathy is extended to daughter, Carmel, sons Séamus and Damien, son-in-law Martin, daughters-in-law, Helen and Sandra, grandchildren Peter, Fergal, Niamh, Sarah and Megan, brothers Eddie, Michael, Eugene and Jim, sisters Phyllis and Rosaleen, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces and extended family and friends on the death of Peggy Clarke (nee Reilly), Tullywaltra, Bailieborough, Co. Cavan, who died peacefully on Sunday, 29th January 2017. Peggy was pre-deceased by her husband Peter. Peggy’s Funeral Mass took place in St Bridgid’s Church, Knockbride West on Tuesday, January 31st with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Deepest Sympathy is extended to sister, Lena, nephews, nieces and extended family and friends on the death of Andy Tully, Lurganbawn, who died on Thursday, 2nd February 2017 peacefully, at Fairlawns Nursing Home. Andy’s Funeral Mass took place in St. Anne’s Church on Saturday, February 4th with burial afterwards in St. Anne’s Cemetery.

Deepest Sympathy is extended to Rosemary Martin and family, Woodview, on the death of Rosemary’s father, Kevin McHugh, Station Road, Kildare Town, Co. Kildare who died on Friday, February 3rd , 2017, in Naas General Hospital. Kevin’s Funeral Mass took place in St Anne’s Church, on Wednesday, February 8th with burial afterwards in St Anne’s Cemetery.

Preparation for Confirmation

The children in 6th Class in St. Anne’s N.S., St Felim’s N.S. and the Model N.S., who are preparing for Confirmation and their parents and guardians, will take part in the 10am Mass on next Sunday morning, February 19th.

 

Cavan Ladies Darts

A ‘Table Quiz’ in aid of Cavan Ladies Darts will take place in Smyth’s of Relaghbeg on Friday, February 17th commencing at 9.00pm, sharp. Table of four is €40 and there will be plenty of spot prizes. All welcome for a great night’s entertainment.

Bailieborough Library Parent, Baby and Toddler Group has proven to be a vital life line for all stay-at-home parents who may be new to the area and wish to get out of the house and make new friends. There is a huge range of toys for children to play with, while parents can enjoy a cup of tea and chat.

The group meets at the Library Arts space every Wednesday at 10.30am-12pm. Why not join their Facebook Group and keep up to date with news and events.

East Cavan Gaels GAA Club – Hurling News 13th February 2017

Under 6/8/10; Our registration nights for both groups went very well. A warm welcome to all our new young hurlers. It is not too late to register if you missed it this week. Under 12/14/16/18; Under 12 outdoor training will return this Saturday at 3.30 on the astro at the Vale. €3 each and bring moulded boots and water bottle. Special thanks to our good friends at Bailieboro Celtic AFC who continue to make their fine facilities available to us. The Under 12 Spring hurling league will begin on Saturday 4th March and every Saturday till early April.
