/in News /by PetraCastle Lake Forest Demense: The Castle Lake committee chaired by Kevin Smith and facilitated by Bailieborough Development Association applied for funding for improved parking on The Cavan Road entrance as it does not currently have adequate parking facilties for the numbers using it.
This project proposes to improve access to the park at this entrance by enhancing carparking facilities just inside the entrance to the park at this location, creating an additional 30 spaces and creating safer and improved access to the forest, lake and trails.
A new 150Sqm family picnic and rest area will also be created along the trails, which will provide a safe, accessible space within which to enjoy the outdoors.
Special thanks to Heather Humphreys department for their continued and ongoing support for Bailieborough and Cavan County Council‘s, Joanne Hayes and John Donohoe for helping us with the application., Sarah O Reilly, County Councillor founder and member of the committee who has brought so much to the area.
