Local events taking place on this Friday evening, September 22nd include: Bailieborough Creative Hub will host their new group exhibition, ‘Perspective’, this Culture Night.

POETRY S.O.S. CLINIC: Hosted by poet and poetry pharmacist, Mairéad Donnellan.
Each personal ‘clinic’ is ten/fifteen minutes long and the entire clinic will last just over three hours. All participants will also receive a 10% discount on Vital Signs Publication. Bookings: (042) 966 5779. Taking place in Bailieborough Library from 5pm to 8.30pm.
Moybologue Historical Society: Are holding a talk on the subject of ‘Parish Missions in the Diocese of Kilmore’. The talk will be given by Fr. Ultan McGoohan and will take place in Tierworker Community Hall at 8.30pm. All welcome.

Congratulations: Congratulations to Tommy and Mary Rose Brady, who on Friday evening last, celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary with a Mass of Thanksgiving in St Anne’s followed by a wonderful party afterwards in the Bailie Hotel.
Bailieborough Library:The next Bookclub Meeting is on next Tuesday, September 26th at 6.30pm and the book to be discussed is ‘The Appeal’ by Janice Hallett! New members are always welcome and copies of the book are available at the Library desk.
Indoor Bowling: Indoor Bowling continues in the Community Centre, Bailieborough on Wednesday evenings at 8.00pm. New members welcome and free tuition for beginners will be provided.
Bailieborough Red Cross: Please support our Annual Church Gate Collections next Saturday and Sunday. We will be collecting at St Ann’s Bailieborough, Killann and Shercock Masses on Saturday Evening and Sunday morning.
Bailieborough Group of Parishes: Harvest Services:
We would love to welcome the Community into our Churches over this Harvest season. All would be warmly welcomed to our Harvest services in Bailieborough Church (Eircode, A82 RP70) on Sunday 24th September at 7:30pm, or in Knockbride Church (Eircode, A82 KN63) on Sunday 8th October at 7:30pm.
Bailieborough Craft Group: The Group meets every Friday from 10am-12.30pm in the Library and new members are always welcome regardless of talents or skills.
Mass at Waterloo Mass Rock: On Sunday afternoon next, September 24th , a Mass will be said at the Waterloo Mass Rock in Killinkere. People are asked to meet at ‘Carolan’s Shop’, Grousehall, Bailieborough at 2.00pm. From there people will walk to the Mass Rock for Mass at 3.00pm. All welcome.
Careers: Thinking of changing career, need advice on careers, educational needs, CV help, interview skills – CMETB (Cavan Monaghan Education and Training Board) will facilitate a FREE drop in service at the Library on the first Thursday of each month on Thursday 5th October 2023 from 2pm-4.30pm. No appointment is necessary.
FREE study space and WIFI available here for all who are in the middle of studying. Other services for students include printing, photocopying, local history/history resources, reference books, public PCs, staff advice, comfortable warm spaces. All are welcome!
Bailieboro Celtic A.F.C: Bailieboro Celtic in conjunction with Cavan Sports Partnership and the F.A.I. present a ‘Football For All’ six week programme for children with a disability, aged 6 to 16 years of age, commencing on Wednesday, September 20th , from 6pm to 7pm, at the Bailieboro Celtic playing grounds at the Vale, Bailieborough. Relaghbeg Fundraising Committee: The total funds raised from the Family Fun Day was €2,516 together with the Music and BBQ night at Smyths Bar, Relaghbeg a total of €5,706 was raised for the All4Tommie – Fundraiser for Tommie Reilly’s Care and Rehabilitation. Thank you so much to everyone that supported our events. A special thank you to all our sponsors. Well done everyone involved in both events.

Walk, Jog or Run: Now that the evenings are getting short again we will be starting back, running and walking for all levels, beginners and advanced. Fun and free, social gathering in the Chapel car park, Lake Shore, Bailieborough at 8pm. All old and new people welcome. It’s a well lit up run. Stretch before and afterwards, every Monday and Wednesday evening.
Halloween ‘Fright Night’: Fright Night is back again!!
Join us for an evening full of fun and scares at the Bailieborough Town Lake from 7.00pm on Monday, October 30th. Bigger and better than ever. Suitable for all ages. Car parking available at the Community Centre, Community School or the Church Carpark on the Virginia Road side. No parking available at the event location.. Fancy dress and lights display. If the lake floods, we will have music, fun, games and fancy dress in the car park too. Tickets are €5 per person for the ‘Scary Walk’. The main sponsor this year is Link Credit Union. After school Hurling continues for boys and girls in Bailieborough on Wednesday evenings, on the Astro at Bailieborough Shamrocks G.A.A. Grounds in St. Annes Park.
