HOLY WEEK AND EASTER CEREMONIES:

Thank you to all those who assisted in preparing and celebrating the Holy Week and Easter liturgies in St. Anne’s Bailieborough, especially the Parish Pastoral Council and Liturgy subcommittee, the sacristan and caretaker, the choirs and their directors Thomas Hanley, Sean Reilly and Derek Eakins, the musicians, the Ministers of the Word, the Ministers of the Eucharist, the Apostolic Society, the altar servers and the parents and children of the First Communion classes who participated on Holy Thursday.

A special word of thanks to Marie Guckian, Geraldine O’Reilly, Mella Denning, Ciaran Purcell, Stephen Mulligan, Eugene Brady and Sean Reilly who gave their time to prepare the church, Rose Fitzpatrick and Sheila Clarke who organised the various ministers, those of you who attended in such large numbers and all who helped in any way.

 

Deepest Sympathy:

Deepest sympathy is extended to the family, relatives and friends of Liam Heery, Wilton, whose funeral took place on Thursday last and also to the family, relatives and friends of Rose Smyth nee Sheanon, formerly of Drumanespic, who died recently in Annacloy, Downpatrick, Co. Down.

 

Kids Craft Workshop:

PATCH (Nature’s Patch Network) Kids craft workshop with Janet McGuigan at Bailieborough Library on Friday next, April 1st from 2.30pm -4.30pm for children aged 5 to 11 years. Bailieborough Group of Parishes:

Thanks to all those who worked so hard to make the Easter weekend a special one in the Bailieborough Group of Parishes. There was a lovely reflective atmosphere in Shercock on Good Friday, and again in Mullagh on Saturday evening. An amazing breakfast made up for slightly icy hands at the Sunrise service in Knockbride. There were more foodie treats in the hall after a fun service in Bailieborough. Congrats to baby Jamie on his baptism. And it was all topped off with an amazing rainbow over Bailieborough on Sunday afternoon.

 

Leaving Cert. Oral Irish Workshop

Parent and Toddler Group:

Bexcourt Parent and Toddler Group continues in the Bexcourt Centre from 10.00am to 12 noon on every Wednesday morning. Meet other parents, compare notes and organise activities and events. For further details, please contact 042 9694825 or just come along and drop into the Centre.

 

Fund Raising Event in aid of the Kilmore Diocesan Pilgrimage Fund:

Thank you so much to everybody on Saturday…all the cyclists, collectors, and helpers. Absolutely fantastic effort put in by everyone and the amount raised was an amazing 3000.00 euro. Thank you all again for your support and to Supervalu and Lorraine Harris.

 

Tunnyduff Parents Association:

CAVAN INSTITUTE OPEN DAYS

  15th and 16th April (10-4pm and12 noon-4pm respectively).  Information on over 80 full time courses starting September 2016 available.

 

‘Bailie Bunny’ is revealed at Shamrocks Camogie Cake Sale!:

 So Kevin Smith—from Bailie Stores, is the ‘Bailie Bunny’!!!!!!! Congratulations to Paul McEvoy and Bailieborough Camogie Club on a brilliant fund raising idea. Huge credit to all the people involved. And great to see such big numbers turn out for the Cake Sale on Sunday morning. Thanks to everyone who supported this event and purchased tickets.

Bailieborough Agricultural Show:

The Bailieborough Agricultural Show are holding a Table Quiz in Fox’s Bar and Restaurant, Main Street on Friday next, April 1st commencing at 9.00pm. Lots of spot prizes on the night and all are most welcome to attend.

The Show committee are running a bus to the forthcoming Balmoral Show and if you are interested in going, please contact any committee member.

 

The ‘Smiley Reilly’ Memorial Run:

The ‘Smiley Reilly’ Memorial Run—in memory of Sean ‘Smiley’ O’Reilly—will take place on Sunday next, April 3rd, 2016. The Run will commence from Tierworker Community Hall at 1.00pm. All Vintage Cars, Tractors and Bikes welcome. Registration will take place from 12 noon and the reg. fee is €20. Refreshments afterwards in Tierworker Community Hall. Baptism Dates in St. Annes for April, May and June 2016:

The following are the dates for Baptisms in St. Anne’s Church for the Months of April, May and June – Sunday April 17th,  Sunday April 24th, Sunday May 8th, Sunday May 22nd, Sunday June 5th and Sunday June 26th –Baptisms will take place on Sundays at 12.30pm.

 

 

 East Cavan Gaels GAA Club – Hurling News 28th March 2016

Under 6/8/10; No training this week. Hurling/Camogie/Football/Rounders Camp from Easter Tuesday in Kingscourt (see poster below). We hope to get outside hurling in early April.

Under 12; Round 2 of the Spring League saw ECG host Castlerahan where we ran out winners in a good entertaining game in difficult weather conditions. The next round will be on Wednesday April 6th.

 

Under 14/16/18; outdoor training has now returned.

Training for all ages from Under 12 to Under 18 on Wednesday 7pm at Bailieborough GAA grounds St. Anne’s Park.

The clocks have now changed and we now have natural light for outdoor hurling at last, we are just waiting on the Spring to arrive as well!.

New players are especially welcome. Equipment supplied while learning the game.

You must be registered with East Cavan Gaels GAA Hurling Club to play hurling with East Cavan Gaels. Forms available at training.

‘Mother Knows Best’:

Aughawillan Drama Troupe are proud to announce two extra night’s performance on the 8th and 9th of April at 8.30 pm in Aughawillan Hall, Co Leitrim.  “Mother Knows Best” by Jimmy Keary is a three act comedy which was performed to roars of laughter and due to public demand we are delighted to entertain you again.  There is no need to book and admission is €10.00.  Please turn up early to avoid disappointment.  Listen out for Aughawillan Drama in the community notices Shannon Side Northern Sound and like us on facebook at Aughawillan Drama.

Co. Cavan Citizens Information Outreach Service in Bailieboro (The Library) on Tuesdays, from 1.30pm – 2.30pm. This is a weekly service.  Any enquiries 076 1075200.

 

Alcoholics Anonymous:

Local meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous are held in: The Health Centre, Kells Road on Wednesdays at 8.30pm.

The Samaritans have a new Freephone number: 116 123 for people who are struggling to cope. The line is open and free 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year.
