First Communion : Congratulations to the children from St. Felim’s National School, who received their First Holy Communion last weekend.

Killann Church: Killann Church will be closed for the next two weeks to facilitate internal and external painting and to repair the main door. Saturday evening Mass will move to Shercock at 8.30pm. Apologies for any inconvenience.

Bishop Martin Hayes would like each Parish in the diocese to create a ‘Green Group’ to assess what small steps can be taken to respond to the environmental crisis. This might involve planting trees, flowerbeds or other initiatives. There are lovely parish grounds that are ideal for all sorts of possibilities. A meeting will be held in the Parish House on this Wednesday evening, September 22nd  at 7.45pm for anyone interested in getting involved.

Deepest Sympathy: Deepest Sympathy is extended to son Peter, daughters Mary and Rosena, grandsons Ben and Patrick, granddaughters Louise, Rebecca and Sueann, sons-in-law Brian and Allan, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends on the passing of Margaret Brady (nee Nulty) Kells Road and late of Micks Bar, Market Square, Bailieborough, Co. Cavan, who passed away on Monday 13th  September 2021, peacefully at her residence. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Michael, son Michael Junior and daughter-in-law Caroline. 

Margaret’s Funeral Mass took place in St. Anne’s Church on Wednesday, September 15th and following which, Margaret’s remains were laid to rest in St. Annes Cemetery.

Bailieborough Creative Hub: After having a very successful week with the ‘Poetry Town’ event, Bailieborough Creative Hub launched their exhibition in the Cavan County Museum in Ballyjamesduff  entitled “Under Cavan Skies” for Culture Night. 

The exhibition will run until the end of the month in the museum.

Rainbow Tractor Run: The Rainbow Tractor Club are having a run on Sunday the 26th September from Killinkere Leisure Centre at 12 noon for the Special Baby Care Unit in Cavan General Hospital.  Registration is from 10.30 a.m onwards.  Motorbikes, vintage cars and all tractors welcome. All support would be appreciated.

 ‘Cherished Captures’: Local photographer, Ollie Gargan’s first solo photo exhibition will be on view upstairs in the Library, to all members of the community until Tuesday, October 26th  during Library opening hours. Current government Covid guidelines will be strictly adhered to. Well worth a visit!

Bailieboro Celtic A.F.C.: Bailieborough Celtic AFC are looking for girls aged 9 to 13 years old, to expand and develop our girls soccer teams, currently at Under 11 and Under 13 level. If you would like the opportunity to become part of a great girls team, come along to our training sessions on a Monday evening at 6.30pm, at the Vale Soccer Grounds.

Bailieborough Cancer Fund: A massive “Thank you ” and congratulations to James, Conor and Derek McElwaine who climbed Croagh Patrick twice in five hours to raise much needed funds for Bailieborough Cancer Comfort. The total raised was €8362.50

Men’s Get-Together and Fitness Programme: Men over 30 are invited to take part in a Fitness Programme in Bailieborough. The programme takes place at the Community Centre every Wednesday evening from 7.00pm to 8.00pm. Please contact Paddy at 086 079 2686 for further details. 

Bailieborough Group of Parishes: Sunday services are at 9:30am in Mullagh and Shercock, 10:45 am in Bailieborough, 12noon in Knockbride. Audio from the sermon will be available later on Sundays on our YouTube channel.  Face masks, hand sanitizing, and social distancing will still be required on Sunday mornings.

Bailieborough School of Music: Bailieborough School of Music is enrolling new students for Recorder, Flute, Trumpet, Saxophone, Clarinet, Drums and Guitar—subject to availability. Please note that all lessons will be on Zoom. Suicide Bereavement Support Group
