Parish  Green Group: The Killann Parish ‘Green Group’  was busy last week,  harvesting the seeds in our wild garden. The seeds will be dried out and sown in the Spring. The garden was then mowed.

Bailieborough Mid Summer Festival and Town Events: Unfortunately the  ‘Scary Walk’ event had to be cancelled due to severe water logging and floods around the Town Lake, which had made the area very unsafe for the event.

The organisers are very sorry as they tried everything ensure the event went ahead. Anyone who has already paid will be returned payment as soon as possible.  Thank you to everyone for your help and for trying to make it happen.

Christmas Lights Committee: The Bailieborough Christmas Lights Committee have set up a ‘Go Fund Me’ page to help ensure that the town will have Christmas lights, this year. Just log onto ‘Bailieborough Christmas Lights Go Fund Me’ page and donate whatever sum you wish, to help with the Christmas Lights, this year.

‘Painting The Town’: ‘Painting The Town’, is the title of  the first solo exhibition of local artist, Maria Jordan O’Reilly. The official opening of the Exhibition will take place  on Friday evening next, November 4th at 6.30pm in Bailieborough Courthouse. ‘Painting the Town’ is a collection of watercolours inspired by the buildings and shopfronts in Bailieborough. Come and discover if your building has been captured in Maria’s creative style. All welcome.

 Karate: Karate for children and adults from 7 years of age and up to age 90 takes place in the Community Centre, Chapel Road, Bailieborough every Wednesday evening from 7.00pm to 8.00pm. East Cavan Swim Club: The Annual General Meeting of the East Cavan Swim Club will take place in the Hotel Bailie on Monday, November 17th at 7.00pm. All parents are most welcome to attend.

Deepest Sympathy:  Deepest Sympathy is extended to brothers Noel, Paddy and Oliver, sisters Ann, Catherine and Eithne, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and extended family and friends on the death of Larry Farrell, Curkish, Bailieborough, Co. Cavan, who passed away peacefully, after a short illness, at Cavan General Hospital on Monday, October 24th, 2022. Larry was predeceased by his mother and father, Teresa and Larry, his sisters Julia and Margaret and his brothers Bernard, Alan and Willie.

It was Larry’s wish that his body be donated to Medical Science. A memorial Mass will be held at a later date. 

Bailieborough Shamrocks G.A.A.: Due to unforseen circumstances we have had to change the Annual General Meeting to Saturday 5th  November, in the Clubhouse at St. Annes Park, at 6pm. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.  

Mains Flushing: From Irish Water: Mains Flushing may cause intermittent supply disruptions to Curkish Lane, Mountain Road, Bailieborough and the surrounding areas in Co. Cavan. Works are scheduled to take place until 8.00am on Monday, November 7th, 2022. Lough An Leagh and Muff Heritage Trust: The Lough An Leagh and Muff Heritage Trust are pleased to announce the completion of the redeveloped Picnic and Mass Rock area at Lough An Leagh—a key component of the Group’s 2022-2032 masterplan for the region. The upgraded facility includes– a paved Picnic Area, a converted shelter, auditorium-style seating around the Mass Rock, thoughtful landscaping-incorporating native shrubs and an accessible Viewing Platform.

To celebrate this milestone, the Trust will host an Official Opening Ceremony on Saturday next, November 5th from 12 noon to 1.00pm. Th event will include a Blessing and a preview of future development projects, followed by light refreshments and entertainment from local musicians, to showcase the newly upgraded space. All are welcome to attend.

Mainly Music, a fun, interactive music group for preschoolers and their caregivers will take place on Friday mornings from 10am -12noon in the Knockbride Church of Ireland Hall (A82 E377). Library: We have a fun and free art workshop planned for children during the upcoming midterm break.

On Friday, 4th  November from 2.15pm-4.15pm, children aged 6+ can make a patchwork/collage ‘Magic House’ using lots of different materials.

Bailieborough Cancer Comfort Ltd: Quiz Night : A big thank you to each and everyone who supported our ‘Quiz Night’. To all who attended, gave donations or gave raffle prizes,we say a big “Thank You”.  It was a great success raising €2053.00.  Last but by no means least, thanks to Stanley our quizmaster, who made it all possible and donated the quiz prizes!!

Regretted Death:  Deepest Sympathy is extended to children, Ami, Chloe, Katie, Ben and Sean, their mother Lisa, heartbroken parents Peggy and Peter, brothers and sisters, Andrew, Peter, Veronica, Jacqui, Alan, Paula, Samantha and Owen,  partner Samantha, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends both in Dublin and Cavan on the death of  Keiron Keating (Baileborough, Co. Cavan and late of Cabra, Dublin), who passed away  (unexpectedly) at home on Saturday, October 22nd, 2022.

Keiron’s Funeral Mass took place in the Church of Christ the King, Cabra on Saturday, October 28th,  followed by cremation at Dardistown Crematorium.   

Indoor Bowling: Indoor Bowling takes place in the Community Centre, Bailieborough, every Wednesday evening for the Winter months at 8.00pm. New members welcome.

Bailieborough Celtic A.F.C. :  Bailieboro Celtic Girls U12 (born 2011/2012) and U14 (born 2009/2010) teams are looking for new girls to join us for the current season.

Deepest Sympathy: Deepest Sympathy is extended to daughters ,Ann Marie (Eugene), Gillian (Damien), Sadie (Nigel), sons John and George, brothers Kevin, Joe and Martin, sisters Eileen, Carmel, Ann, Bernadette, Rosaleen and Breda, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends on the death of Mary Nesbitt (nee Clarke), Drumbannon, Bailieborough, Co. Cavan, who passed away on Saturday, 29th  October 2022 peacefully at her residence,  surrounded by her loving family. Mary was predeceased by her daughter Pauline. 

A celebration of Mary’s life took place at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan on Monday, October 31st, followed by cremation.
