Bailieborough Cancer Comfort

The Community Variety Concert takes place on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th November in the Community Centre at 8.30pm. Please come along and support and enjoy local talent. €10 payable at door. All funds go to this very worthy cause. All welcome.

 

Annual Sponsored Dog Walk

The Dog Walk date is almost upon us, Saturday next, 26th November at 12.30pm will see the canine perambulators gather at Bailieboro Vet Clinic on the Kells Rd. They will walk in aid of their other less fortunate comrades with the CSPCA. Face painting for the younger owners with light refreshments and spot prizes for all who attend on the day! All welcome.

 

Institution of the Rev. Ian Horner

The Revd. Ian Horner’s Institution will take place in Bailieborough Parish Church on Sunday evening next, 27th November at 7pm. All welcome.

 

The LAKELANDS ARCH CLUB CHRISTMAS PARTY

East Knockbride N.S. are holding an Enrolment/ Information Evening in the school, for Children who wish to enrol for September 2017 on Wednesday 23rd November 2016 between 7 and 8pm. Parents and Children are welcome to come along on the night, meet our staff and view facilities at the school.

 

Church of Ireland Conal Gallen Fundraiser

We are delighted to report that the Conal Gallen Concert in the Hotel Bailie on Friday night last was a huge success. Many, many thanks to all who helped in any way and especially to everyone who attended in such large numbers. Thanks to Conal for ‘the craic’! To the Bailie Hotel for hosting, to those who sold tickets and donated prizes, and to all who showed up to support and create a great atmosphere! Your support as always was greatly appreciated. Thank you all!!

Bailieborough Community Choir

The Bailieborough Community Choir are holding their first ever fund raiser on Friday, December 2nd in Foxes Bar, Main Street, Bailieborough. This will be a Fund Raising Quiz which will commence at 9.00pm, sharp. A table of 4 will cost 40 euro and all are most welcome to attend.

 

Well Done again, Leanne!!!: Bailieborough native and Community School student, Leanne Kiernan once again helped Shelbourne Ladies to move five points clear at the top of the Continental Tyres Women’s National League with just two games remaining. Leanne Kiernan’s 13th goal of the season on the hour mark sealed three points against Wexford Youths WFC and moved them to 26 points for the season. The result means that Shelbourne Ladies sit top of the League with UCD Waves behind them. UCD face Shelbourne on November 30, where a draw or Shels win will see Shelbourne wrap up the League.

 

BAILIEBOROUGH COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Many thanks to all who made the Bailieborough Community Development Fundraising night such a successful one. It was great to see the Celtic Tenors, Deirdre Shannon, Brian McGrane and The Community School Choir, Community Choir and ‘Hardtimes Chorus’ all take to the stage. Many thanks to all who helped out in any way and in particular to the organisers, John Ed Sheanon and Lee McDonald.

Congratulations and Well Done

Congratulations and well done to local teenager, Jack Barry, (son of Anthony and Catherine) who was first of all nominated but then went on to win the ‘Cavan Hurler of the Year’ Award at the Sheridan Insurances ‘Breffni All Stars and Awards Night’ on Friday last in the Hotel Kilmore.

A great individual award for Jack, who is still U16, for his consistent outstanding performances in the Celtic Challenge U17 inter-county competition for Cavan, picking up numerous player of the game awards along the way as well as great performances in the Cavan U16 championship, Ulster U16 league and Ulster minor league.
A first individual playing award to an East Cavan Gaels player also. Everyone in the club is rightly proud of this great achievement. Well done Jack.

 

Bailieborough Shamrocks GAA Club: Annual General Meeting of the Club on Friday, 9th December at 8pm: Bailieborough Shamrocks GAA Club are holding their Annual General Meeting on Friday, 9th December 2016 at 8pm in the Clubrooms of St Anne’s Park. Calling ALL sections of the Club to attend as well as members, players, mentors, supporters and the wider community. Everyone is welcome. Let’s all move our great club forward together as one. Please attend, new members welcome and appreciated. There will be a cup of tea and a chance to mingle at the end of the AGM. Look forward to seeing a big crowd on the night

Bailieboro ‘Lend a Hand’ for the elderly and vulnerable are still here, more so now that the weather is that bit colder!! If ye need any jobs done or maybe just someone to call for a chat, just give us a call on 0429694825.

 

Bridge: Bridge takes place every Tuesday evening in the Hotel Bailie at 8.00pm. New members are always most welcome.

 

Art Exhibition: An Art Exhibition by artist, Josephine Tracey is taking place upstairs in Bailieborough Library until the end of November. The exhibition has a mixture of Weave work, Embroidery and Oil Painting Landscapes. The Exhibition is open during Library opening hours and all are most welcome to attend and view it.

 

Drumkeery Group Water Scheme

Drumkeery Group Water Scheme will be carrying out the biannual maintenance work on the network, which will include scouring of the lines. This may cause some disruption to member’s water supply. If discolouration of the water occurs, run the tap until the water becomes clear. Maintenance work will be carried out until Wednesday, 30th November. Walk, Jog Or Run…. Exercising Is FUN! Every Monday and Wednesday evenings at 8pm join us at Bailieborough Community Centre! All welcome—no matter what your fitness levels are!. Ok folks, join us to run, jog or walk and most importantly tea, biscuits, fruit and chat afterwards.

 

Library: Parent, Baby and Toddler group: Weekly meeting at Bailieborough Library.

Bailieborough Library Parent, Baby and Toddler Group has proven to be a vital life line for all stay-at-home parents who may be new to the area and wish to get out of the house and make new friends. There is a huge range of toys for children to play with, while parents can enjoy a cup of tea and chat.

The group meets at the Library Arts space every Wednesday at 10.30am-12pm. Why not join their Facebook Group and keep up to date with news and events.

Citizens Information every Tuesday 1.30pm-2.30pm on a first come first served basis;

Craft Group every Friday 10.30am-1pm;

Book Club 6pm-7pm last Thursday of every month;

The Cavan Institute ‘Drop in Day’ will take place on this Saturday, November 26th from 12 noon to 4.00pm. An invitation to potential applicants and parents to call into the Institute and meet with Subject and Class Tutors to discuss course options. All welcome.
