East Cavan Gaels GAA Club – Hurling News 18th December 2017
And that’s a wrap! Another years hurling, our 9th, done. Lots of new hurlers joining with us especially at the younger ages. Our U12s won the Monaghan Division 2 league. Our U14s reached National Feile semi-final. Our older groups did not get the amount of games we would have liked but we are working on fixing that for 2018 so hang in there lads! Adult hurling is also nearly ready for lift off.
Thanks to everyone for all of their hard work again this year. It is a small but very dedicated crew who work, sometimes in conditions which can be very challenging, for the benefit of the boys and for their hurling development. Without them we could not function.
We have worked very hard over the years to lobby for new competitions to keep our boys hurling and we are hopeful that some new exciting announcements early in the New Year will give hurling the big opportunity it has been waiting for. Watch this space.
Finally thanks to our players and their parents. We could not have one without the other, so to our players thank you for all of your efforts and to your parents thanks for your continued support. It can be difficult locally sometimes to say you play hurling but if you stick with us over the years ahead not only will you be able to say you play hurling but that you are also very proud to play this great game of ours.
Happy Christmas from all of us at East Cavan Gaels GAA Hurling Club.
