Niamh Crosby Easter Sunday, Memorial Bike Run:

We are organising a motorbike run and fundraising for St James Hospital, the hospital in which Niamh got excellent care from her doctors and nurses during her illness.

The money raised will go toward the kit out of a family comfort room in Niamh’s memory and also go towards much-needed equipment that will help other patients through their treatment and care.

The motorbike run will be held on Sunday next, Easter Sunday 17th  April.

Registration starts at 10 am at Enagh House Virginia/Bailieborough Rd A82E5D8, and the run will commence at 12pm. All bikes Welcome

We have also set up a Go fund me which you can donate to.

Congratulations: A huge congratulations to local man Kevin Carolan who was successful on his walk with Charlie Bird, his friend of recent times. He walked side by side with Charlie to the top, amazing achievement, well done Kevin. Kevin thanks people for all donations on line and all private donations also.

Irish Red Cross -Bailieborough Branch

We are running a Public First Aid course in April/May – if anyone is interested please contact Julie on 086 -8968928. This course will run subject to numbers.

Library: The next book the Bailieborough Reading Group will be reading is ‘Girl A’ by Abigail Dean.

The title will be discussed on Thursday May, 5th  from 6.30-7.30 pm.

All are welcome and copies of this title will be available in the Bailieborough Branch shortly.

Libraries Ireland have teamed up with the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth so that every child starting school, can get a First 5 Ireland Little Library Book Bag!

Holy Thursday: Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper at 7.00pm.

Good Friday Prayer Service: John Paul Award students of the Bailieborough Community School will lead a special Prayer Service of the Stations of the Cross on Good Friday 15th  April at 12 noon in St. Anne’s Church. All students are invited and are welcome to come with their parents, friends or younger siblings.

The Lord’s Passion at 3.00pm.

Holy Saturday: Easter Vigil at 8.00pm.

Easter Sunday: Mass of the Lord’s Resurrection at 10.00am.

Easter Confessions: Will take place on Wednesday, April 13th immediately after 7.00pm Mass in St. Annes for individual confessions. 

Visitation of the Sick: Fr. Ultan has just recovered from Covid and out of caution, will not visit the housebound as planned, this week. Visits will take place during the first week in May.

Ukraine Appeal: Thank You to the Parishioners who contributed to the recent Diocesan Ukraine Appeal— €3,080 was collected.

Bailieborough Shamrocks LGFA and Camogie Clubs : The Shamrocks Ladies Football and Camogie Clubs are holding an Easter Cake Sale in the Community Centre on Easter Sunday morning, 17th April, 10am – 12pm. Please come along and support.

Callaghan’s from Skeagh: Looking for relatives – Cindy Hart and members of her family are travelling to Knockbride from America, for Easter. She is the great granddaughter of Bridget Callaghan from Skeagh, Knockbride, daughter of William and Susan Callaghan. Bridget emigrated to America prior to 1903 and was joined by her sisters Margaret, Susan and Mary. When their mother Susan died in 1919, James her son was present.I would be grateful for any information on this family. As a child she recalls photos of a cousin Lizzie Callaghan from Knockbride. Loughanleagh and Muff Heritage Trust are holding their Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, May 4th at 7.30pm, in the Loughanleagh Heritage Centre (adjacent to the Picnic Area). All welcome.

Bailieborough Craft Club: Meetings take place every Friday, upstairs in the Library from 10.30am to 12.30pm. Looking forward to seeing everyone and new members most welcome.

Bailieborough Men’s Shed: Men’s Shed is open every Tuesday morning from 10am till 1pm at the Beckscourt Centre. New members are always most welcome.

TUNNYDUFF SCHOOL: The Clothes Bank at St. Brigid’s National School, Tunnyduff, is available for use by all members of the community. As this facility generates welcome income for the school, we would very much appreciate your support.  

Fund Raising Table Quiz: In Aid of Cavan Cystic Fibrosis and Down Syndrome North-East Centre Carrickmacross will take place in Gallonray House, Maudabawn H16X409 on this Friday evening, April 15th 2022 at  9.30pm. Table of 4, €20 Everyone welcome! Refreshments served.
