Presentation
Sr. Geraldine Carolan from Crossmakeelan, who is on a rare home holiday from South Africa received what she described as a very generous donation towards her missionary work with the Sisters of the Assumption out there. The presentation cheque came from the Dancing for Pleasure committee, who hold a monthly dance in the Community Centre.
She explained how valuable the gift would be on account of the euro being worth about one third more than the local currency out there, the rand.
It was a rare coincidence that the presentation coincided with the Feast of the Assumption.

Development draw; To continue the work of developing hurling in the region we have our annual draw for 2 Premium Level tickets to the All-Ireland Hurling Final. Lines are just €2 and we look forward to the local communities continuing support for hurling. Lines/cards are available from all players, managers, coaches and mentors. Good Luck!
U12/14/16; Another very positive days hurling, this time from our U14 squad who partook in the St.Feilims Hurling Club blitz today reaching the Cup final. With teams from Longford, Westmeath, Cavan and Limerick this would turn out to be a great days hurling.
The boys started with a hard fought win over Annalee Gaels followed by a good victory over Longford’s Wolfe Tones in the semi-final particularlyafter digging deep to force extra time and points from Jack Barry and Eoin Morrissey securing a one point win in extra time.
On to the Cup final v St. Patricks from Limerick where the Treaty men proved a step too far for our lads but they can hold their heads high as one of the main standard bearers at this age grouping in the county. Fine performances all-round the squad but particularly good from Callum Gorham, Cillian Traynor and Jack Barry but ALL the boys can be very satisfied with their performances on the day especially as we were carrying a couple of injuries and a smaller than normal squad.
Very special thanks to St.Feilims Hurling Club for hosting this inter-county club blitz. These games are very valuable for club development and their forward thinking is to be commended.
