/in News /by PetraLocal Car Park Closed: Please be advised that the Castle Lake car park on the Cavan Road side will be closed from 31/01/23, this is to facilitate the upgrading and extension of the existing car park.
Unfortunately, the car park must be closed to facilitate this work and people are asked to use the Drumkeery entrance on the Shercock road side for the duration.
Works will also include a raised family/ outdoor education area further within the forest, all works are funded under the Rural Recreation Scheme.
The committee have also commissioned a local artist to create a wooden sculpture in keeping with the area, funding for this has been sought through the MD discreationry fund.
We are delighted that the appointed contractor is local contractors Pat Denning and Company and it is anticipated works will take approximately 3 weeks to complete.
Whilst every effort will be made to minimize disruption, there may be some unavoidable disruptions to local residents in the course of these works.
We thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this time. If you have any questions about the scheme, please feel free to contact us. We would also like to acknowledge the work of Cavan County Council, Coillte and our chairperson Kevin Smith.
