Senior;
Monaghan SHL round 1.
East Cavan Gaels 2-14, Inniskeen 2-21.
A highly entertaining first round encounter in the splendid surroundings of Knockbride on Wednesday to get the league season up and running. Shorn of some of our county stars recuperating after the Lory Meagher heroics, the lads set about the reigning champions in a repeat of last years final. With a number of younger lads and some returnees the lads put in a good performance, Inniskeens late burst of 1-02 saw them over the line but our lads can be happy with their nights work. Onwards to round 2 away to Truagh Gaels in North Monaghan next week.
Special thanks to Knockbride GFC for the use of their fine facilities, their pitch is top class for hurling.
U12/14/16/18; Hard luck to the county U17s who went down to Louth in the Tom Hogan Cup Final in the Celtic Challenge in Kingspan Breffni on Saturday last. Some of our men will move to club senior and county U20 for 2026, always a good sign.
