Bailieborough Group of Parishes: Our annual Cake Sale and Coffee Morning, will take place on Saturday next, 7th  December at 11am in Bailieborough Church Hall. All welcome.

Good Luck and Best Wishes: The best of luck and good wishes are extended to the members of the Bailieborough Drama Group, who will be performing in the  All Ireland One Act Drama Finals (confined), with Liz O’Hanlon’s ‘Dying Minutes’. Best of luck in the Finals, which take place this weekend in The Moat Theatre, Naas, County Kildare. The Group will be performing on Sunday afternoon.  

Bailieborough Cancer Comfort Ltd: Bailieborough Cancer Comfort Ltd presents ‘A Christmas Reflection’ –prayers and Candle Lighting Ceremony—led by, Fr. Ultan McGoohan, Archdeacon Ian Horner and the Rev. John O’Donnell, on Sunday next, December 8th 2024 at 8.30pm, at the Old Post Office, Main St, Bailieborough. Everybody welcome.

Mass Changes Confirmed: Beginning from the weekend of 4/5 January, 2025, the first weekend of the New Year, the following Mass schedule will be in place in Killann Parish: Saturday Vigil Mass at 6.00pm in Killann (until the time changes in March, when it will revert to 8.30pm).

Saturday Vigil Mass at 7.15pm in Bailieborough (until the time changes in March, when it will revert to 7.00pm).

Sunday, 10.15am in Bailieborough—all year.

Sunday, 11.30am in Shercock.

BAILIEBOROUGH COMMUNITY SCHOOL REUNION

Class of 1994 30 Year School Reunion, will take place on Friday, 27th  December, at 8.30pm in the Bailie Hotel lounge. A night not to be missed.

Confirmation Enrolment will take place in St. Anne’s Church on this Saturday evening, December 7th at 7.00pm, Mass.

Regretted Death:  The death has occurred of John Carolan, Finternagh, Bailieborough.

John Carolan, Finternagh, Bailieborough, Co Cavan passed away on Friday,  22nd  November 2024, suddenly at Cavan General Hospital. John was predeceased by his parents Hugh and Kathleen.

Deeply regretted by his loving sister Catherine, nieces Ursula (Vincent) and Sinéad, nephews Conor (Michelle) and Sean (Rachel), grand-nieces Amy, Ellen-Kate and Sophie, grand-nephews Niall, Liam, Colin, Danny, Ollie, Joe and Ben, extended family, neighbours and friends.

John’s Funeral Mass took place on Wednesday, November 27th  in St. Anne’s Church, Bailieborough, followed afterwards by cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan.

Bailieborough Christmas Lights Committee: A massive ‘Thank You’  to everyone who helped erect the Christmas lights again this year! Christmas spirit and community spirit is alive and well in Bailieborough and we wish you all, a happy and peaceful Christmas! 

CMET Adult Services: CMET Adult Services are offering free computer classes in Bailieborough in January 2025. Courses will run in the Bailieborough Business Development Centre and cater for absolute beginners to improvers. Bailieborough Active Age Group: Next meeting on Tuesday, December 10th in the Bailie Hotel at 2pm, for the Christmas Party. Hope to see you all there. Everyone Welcome. This will be the last get-together for 2024.

St Vincent de Paul Annual Appeal 2024

This year’s SVP Giving Sunday will happen on Sunday, 8th  December. Collections will be taken up at the Sunday Masses and also at the Vigil Masses that weekend.

Bailieborough Bowls: Indoor bowls have recommenced in the Bailieborough Community Centre on Wednesday’s at 8pm. Tuition is available free of charge and membership is open to all members of the community.

New AL-ANON meeting in Bailieborough: A new AL-ANON meeting takes place in the Beckscourt Community Centre (A82D928) on Thursday evenings at 7.30pm. For further details, please contact, 087 1321462. All welcome. Al-Anon is a mutual support programme for people whose lives have been affected by someone else’ drinking. By sharing common experiences and applying the Al-Anon principles, families and friends of alcoholics can bring positive changes to their individual situations, whether or not, the alcoholic admits the existence of a drinking problem or seeks help. This is a spiritual problem, not a religious one!

Bailieborough Library: Join us in Bailieborough Library for a Christmas Tree Decoration Workshop with Helen and Niamh on Saturday 7th  December from 11am-12:30pm and help us decorate Bailieborough Library’s Christmas tree!

Join us in Bailieborough Library, on Thursday 5th  December at 7pm, when Friends of Castle Lake Catchment and Green Foundation Ireland will jointly host a short film and talk by John Gormley and Frances Fitzgerald from Dodder Action group about the great work being done on the Dodder river in Dublin. All are welcome to attend.

 The craft group takes place every Friday at 11am in the Library.

Line Dancing: Line Dancing has resumed on Tuesday’s, at 8.15pm in the Couthouse, Lr. Main St. New members are always welcome.
