First Communion and Confirmation: First Communion and Confirmation is going ahead as planned. Confirmation will take place in St. Anne’s Church, Bailieborough on Saturday next, 4th September at 11am for St. Felim’s The Vale N.S. And at 2.30pm for St. Anne’s N.S. Confirmation will take place in St. Patrick’s Church, Shercock on Friday evening next, September 3rd at 6.00pm. Only the candidate for Confirmation, their parents and sponsor may attend the ceremony. The ceremonies will be broadcast on the webcam in Bailieborough and on the radio in Shercock.
First Communion will take place on Saturday, September 11th in St. Anne’s Church for St. Anne’s N.S. First Communion will take place on Sunday, September 12th at 2.00pm, in St. Patrick’s Church, Shercock for St. Patrick’s N.S. St. Felim’s, The Vale First Communion will be on Saturday, September 18th at 11.00am in St. Anne’s Church. Only the child concerned and parents may attend these ceremonies, which will also be broadcast on the webcam and radio.
Deepest Sympathy: Deepest Sympathy is extended to son Paddy, sister Kathleen, daughter in law Bernie, grandchildren Damien, Alan and Tracy, great-grandchildren Lucy, Leon and Saoirse, nephew, nieces and extended family and friends on the death of Eileen Carroll (nee O’Reilly) Corlurgan, Bailieborough, Co. Cavan who passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in Fairlawns Nursing Home, Bailieborough on Monday, August 23rd 2021. Eileen was predeceased by her husband George, her brothers John, Jimmy and Michael and sister May.
Eileen’s Funeral Mass took place in St. Annes Church on Wednesday, August 25th and afterwards her remains were laid to rest in St. Anne’s Cemetery.
Ushers: As there will be a need for ushers in St. Annes for some time yet, more volunteers are needed to help with this important job. This is an opportuinity to be of service to the Parish Community. Please contact Fr. Ultan for further details.
Cavan Sports Partnership: Kids Bikefest, coming to Bailieborough!
To Celebrate National Bike Week 2021 we have Bikefest events taking place in Bailieborough Saturday 18th September at the Bailieborough Community School.
The Bikefest will provide fun training, skills, obstacles and bike checks. Times from 11.30am—12 noon (5—8 year olds) and 12 noon to 1.00pm ( 9 + years).

Men’s Get-Together and Fitness Programme: Men over 30 are invited to take part in a Fitness Programme in Bailieborough. The programme takes place at the Community Centre every Wednesday evening from 7.00pm to 8.00pm. Please contact Paddy at 086 079 2686 for further details.
Bailieborough Group of Parishes: Sunday services are at 9:30am in Mullagh and Shercock, 10:45 am in Bailieborough, 12noon in Knockbride. Audio from the sermon will be available later on Sundays on our YouTube channel. Face masks, hand sanitizing, and social distancing will still be required on Sunday mornings.
Bailieborough School of Music: Bailieborough School of Music is enrolling new students for Recorder, Flute, Trumpet, Saxophone, Clarinet, Drums and Guitar—subject to availability. Please note that all lessons will be on Zoom. If you have a son/daughter or know of anyone interested, please contact the B.S.M. at bboro.som@gmail.com, with the student’s name, date of birth, and instrument choice. Please also state, if the student can read music, the primary school they attend and class they are in—as of September 2021.
Wanted: Chestnuts!!!!: Bailieborough Community School’s pupils would be very grateful if anyone is able to collect chestnuts for them. They need them to make adjustments to their ‘Junk Kouture’ outfit which will be recorded by RTE on October 1st for the final of the event.
Eucharistic Adoration in St. Annes: Eucharistic Adoration was suspended during the Pandemic. As restrictions lift, it is hoped to graduallt restore this devotion in St. Annes. Eucharistic Adoration will initally be held each Tuesday from 10.00am to 11.00am. As the weeks go by, the times and day will be reviewed based on feedback from participants.
Bailieborough Library: The draw for our Summer Stars vouchers took place last weekend and the five lucky winners of a €30 voucher for Bailie Stores are: Aaron Fitzimons, Kiran Fatima, Lauren Gaffney, Chloe Tynan, and Chloe Elvin.
