Bailieborough ‘Active Age’ Group: Next social meeting is on Tuesday, May 7th in the Courthouse from 2pm to 4pm. A warm welcome to all. To-date the group have been very blessed to have interesting guest speakers, artists and musicians give a half hour of their time in sharing their interests and passions. Fun Run: St. Feilm’s National School Parents Assocation are holding a FUN RUN on Monday next, 6th May (Bank Holiday) at 11am. 5km and 10km routes. Registration is from 10:30am at the Community Centre. Entry fees are €5 per person/€10 per family. Spot prizes on the day. Everyone welcome.
Knock: Bailieborough Church Choirs have been invited to provide music at the Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock on Saturday, August 9th, 2024. St. Anne’s Church Choir are having rehearsals on Tuesday evenings in the Church at 6.30pm. All are welcome.

East Cavan Swimming Club: Congratulations to all of the Club’s swimmers on Sunday last at the Enniskillen Lakelanders Junior Gala.

May—Month of the Holy Rosary: The Rosary will be recited for the month of May, at 7.30pm at Our Lady’s Altar in St. Annes Church. Everyone welcome.
Careers: Thinking of changing career, need advice on careers, educational needs, CV help, interview skills – CMETB (Cavan Monaghan Education and Training Board) will facilitate a FREE drop in service at the Library on the last Wednesday of each month from 2.15pm-4.30pm. Next month’s is on Wednesday, May 1st. No appointment is necessary.
Bailieborough Men’s Shed: Bailieborough ‘Men’s Shed’ is open every Tuesday morning from 10.00am to 1.00pm in the Bexcourt Centre, Shercock Road. New members are always most welcome.
Darkness into Light, Bailieborough: ‘Darkness into Light’, Bailieborough will take place on the morning of Saturday, May 11th at 4.15am.

REFRESHMENTS: We will be providing refreshments after the event in the Community School again this year on 11th May 2024. We are asking any keen bakers to support the event and donate something. Anything being donated can be left in Nomad Coffee (Shercock Road) during the day of 10th May or in The Lemon Tree (Barrack Street) that evening between 6 and 8pm.
COLLECTION DATES: To help with costs involved in hosting our DIL Bailieborough 2024 event, we are holding collection dates on Friday 3rd May and Saturday 4th May in the following locations;

Walk, Jog or Run: Now that the evenings are getting longer again, there will be running and walking for all levels, beginners and advanced. Fun and free, social gathering in the Chapel car park, Lake Shore, Bailieborough at 8pm. All old and new people welcome. It’s a well lit up run. Stretch before and afterwards, every Monday and Wednesday evening.
East Cavan Gaels GAAHurling Club News 28th April 2024
Senior/county squads;
Club Seniors went down to a good Truagh Gaels side in the spring league on Sunday last. Next up is a semi final v Erne Gaels in the next week or so.
The county Seniors had a hard fought but deserved win over Lancashire in Belfast on Saturday. Next up is what is ostensibly an All Ireland semi final at home to Longford in two weeks time.
The county U20s, with a good crew of East Cavan Gaels men in tow, will try to make the All Ireland C final when they host Monaghan on Saturday next in Kingspan Breffni at 4pm. Best wishes to all and to joint manager ECGs Pat O’Flaherty.
County U17s have a few weeks off before their next outing.

Under 12/14/16 club training Wednesday time tbc on the astro at Bailieboro Celtic AFC.
Another good performance from the young U16 side v Knockbridge on Monday last in Killinkere. Many thanks to Killinkere for the use of their facilities.
Under 12 Monaghan League will begin in the next weeks tbc.
Under 8 and under 10s will return to outdoor training over the next month.
