Good News: In these troubled times, it is nice to see that there is some good news heading our way with the announcement on Monday morning last, that the old Bailieborough Court House is to be converted into Ireland’s first Plantation Museum. €1.4 million will go towards the project. The project will include a visitor centre and museum, as well as spaces for remote working, a youth facility, cultural events and exhibitions.
The Visitor Centre will tell the story of Bailieborough and the surrounding areas and will be the first Plantation Museum in Ireland.
Minister for Rural and Community Development Heather Humphreys announced the allocation of funding for the project.

St. Annes: The news that the number of people who may attend a Funeral will increase to 25 from next Monday, April 26th, is to be welcomed.
The Bishop has granted permission for the resumption of Baptisms, with a limited attendance confined to parents and godparents.
Mass can be heard on the radio at 107.8FM in the Bailieborough area and 92FM in Shercock.
Public Masses are suspended until at least April 26th, when it is hoped that some of the current restrictions may be lifted. All Masses and Parish Funerals can be viewed on the Parish webcam or can be heard by tuning in the radio to 107.8 F.M.
Due to the restrictions, only six guests may participate in a wedding.

Deepest Sympathy: Deepest Sympathy is extended to family Gerry, Ollie, Michael, Andy and Catherine on the death of Suey Donohoe (Nee Reilly) late of Greaghcrotta, Bailieborough, Co. Cavan, who passed away peacefully after a short illness, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, April 17th 2021. Suey was predeceased by her husband Paddy, brothers Seamus and Michael and her sister Catherine. Sadly missed by her sister Lil (New Jersey) and brother P.J. Her adored grandchildren Roy, Diane, Cian, Odhran and Aine, daughters-in-law, Siobhan and Margaret, sisters-in -law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, neighbours, relatives and friends.
Suey’s Funeral Mass took place in St.Brigid’s Church, Knockbride West on Monday, April 19th followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
Trocaire: Please return your Trocaire contributions to the parish office as soon as possible. This year, the focus is on helping refugees in South Sudan.
Bailieborough Group of Parishes: During lockdown, we thought we would return to ‘Word at Noon’ from Monday-Friday each week. We hope these daily readings and reflections will be of some help in this tough time.
Services: Due to level 5 restrictions we cannot meet in our Church buildings, so our service this week will be on Facebook (or on YouTube under ‘bailieborough group of parishes’) from 10:30am this Sunday— April 25th.
Bailieborough Library: Unfortunately, due to the Level 5 restrictions, the Library will remain closed for the foreseeable future. The online Library is available, anytime, anywhere! Throughout the coming weeks, you can access free eBooks, eAudiobooks, digital magazines, online courses and international newspapers! Our delivery service to members of our community who are vulnerable/cocooning will continue for the foreseeable future.

East Cavan Gaels: Hurling: All being well we hope to get back hurling from the end of April, it is only two weeks after the return to school after the Easter break. We have loads of hurleys for those looking and for those looking for helmets you can let us know if you need one and we will look to order again, obviously things will happen a bit slower that we are used to.
All players MUST be members to be covered by the GAA insurance scheme so please use the time between now and return to play to get your individual or family membership up to date.
