Irish Red Cross -Bailieborough Branch :We would like to acknowledge the donation of €1270.00 from the Model School, Bailieborough for the Ukrainian Humanitarian Appeal.
Julie O Brien, Area Treasurer accepted the cheque from Acting Principal, Myrtle Griffith. Thanks to all the boys and girls for their support.
Another successful fundraiser for the Ukrainian Humanitarian Appeal.
Thanks to Pat Mulchrone Music, Nigel Livingstone and Brendan Jermyan for organising the Dance in The Lavey Inn. A total of €2792 was raised.
We are running a Public First Aid course in April/May – if anyone is interested please contact Julie on 086 -8968928. This course will run subject to numbers.
Bailieborough Walking Group: Bailieborough Walking Group are hosting a walk in support of the “Climb with Charlie” event on Saturday morning next, 2nd April at 10.00am. Meeting at Bailieborough Business Centre A82HH58 and walking around the Castle Lake Forest. All donations raised will go to Irish Motor Neurone Disease and Pieta House, two worthy charities. All welcome.
Library: Artistic Exhibition: ‘Land and Water’, a beautiful exhibition of work by artist Eilish McCann will be on view in the Library until April 9th during Library opening hours.
The next meeting of the Bailieborough Library Book Club has been postponed until Thursday, April 7th at 6.30 pm.
New readers are always welcome and copies of ‘Exciting Times’ by Naoise Dolan are available in the branch.
Deepest Sympathy: Deepest Sympathy is extended to daughters Antoinette, Noreen and Mary, son Thomas, sisters Julia, Agnes, Nora, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, sisters-in-law Lucy and Dympna, nine grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family, neighbours and friends on the death of Rose Smyth (nee Clarke) Relaghbeg, Bailieborough, Co. Cavan, who passed away peacefully at Cavan General Hospital on Friday, March 25th, 2022.
Rose was predeceased by her husband Phil, daughter Ashling, parents Charles and Bridget, siblings, Bridget, Frank, Mary, Phil and Paddy.
Rose,s Funeral Mass took place in St Patrick’s Church, Tierworker, on Sunday, March 27th and afterwards, her remains were laid to rest in Moybolgue Cemetery

Local Man to walk with Charlie Bird: Kevin Carolan will be walking alongside Charlie Bird to the very top of Croagh Patrick, on Saturday next, April 2nd. Kevin says,”everyday across this country people are battling there own mountains with physical and mental issues”. He’s asking everyone who feels able, to travel to Mayo or do the walk in your own surroundings. Bailieborough Men’s Shed: Men’s Shed is open every Tuesday morning from 10am till 1pm at the Beckscourt Centre. New members are always most welcome.
Niamh Crosby Easter Sunday, Memorial Bike Run: It’s 6 years since the passing of local girl, Niamh Crosby from cancer. We are organising a motorbike run and fundraising for St James Hospital, the hospital in which she got excellent care from her doctors and nurses during her illness. The money raised will go toward the kit out of a family comfort room in Nimah’s memory and also go towards much-needed equipment that will help other patients through their treatment and care. The motorbike run will be held on Easter Sunday 17th April. Registration starts at 10 am at Enagh House Virginia/Bailieborough Rd A82E5D8, and the run will commence at 12pm. Regretted Death: Deepest Sympathy is extended to daughters Marion and Rita, sons Thomas and Sean, sons in law, daughter in law, sister in law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family, neighbours and friends on the death of Alice Carolan (nee Clarke) Tunnyduff, Bailieborough, Co. Cavan who passed away peacefully at Cavan General Hospital on Monday, March 21st, 2022. Alice was.predeceased by her husband Peter. Alice’s Funeral Mass took place in St Brigid’s Church, Knockbride West (Tunnyduff) on Wednesday, March 23rd and afterwards, her remains were laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery.
Rhythmic Dance Twirlers: Beginner classes take place every Wednesday evening from 5.00pm to 6.00pm, in the Courthouse, Lower Main St, Bailieborough. Boys and girls aged 4 and up, are welcome to join us. Contact, Kelly Clarke for further information.
TUNNYDUFF SCHOOL: The Clothes Bank at St. Brigid’s National School, Tunnyduff, is available for use by all members of the community. As this facility generates welcome income for the school, we would very much appreciate your support.
