Bailieborough Shamrocks Health and Wellbeing initiative for all the community!
Do you want to get moving and active this New Year, but you have nowhere to go?
Do you find it hard to find a safe and well-lit area to go a walk during the dark winter months? Well, your local GAA Club has the answer!
Bailieborough Shamrocks GAA are coming on board with the Operation Transformation and the GAA for Ireland Lights Up. Every night from the 19th January – 23th February 2022 our club will be open and lit up for you, your family and friends to come and walk safety around our fully lit walking track.
We want everyone to come and join for Ireland Lights Up 2022!
Track your steps and log them My Life App for the club. We could be in with a chance to win some great prizes whilst getting fit..
It’s that time of year again folks, Club Membership is now due. New members are always welcome. Here’s to a successful year at all levels.
Senior football trainng commences on Tuesday evening next, January 18th. Old and new members are welcome to come along and join in.
Congratulations to Danny Keenan (#8085) won the €10,000 cash prize in the Shamrocks ‘Dublin City Apartment or €250,000 Cash’ draw held on December 28th. There are still some tickets left for the main draw on St. Patrick’s Day.
Heartfelt Sympathy: The entire community were deeply saddened to learn of the sudden death of Julie Kehoe, Craanford, Gorey, Wexford / Bailieborough, Cavan, partner of Dessie Heery, Bailieborough, who passed away on Friday, December 31st, 2021, following a road accident. Julie was the beloved mother of Jack, Grace and Hannah and sister of Ger, Martina and Ciaran. Deeply regretted by her mother Geraldine, partner Dessie, son Jack, daughters Grace and Hannah, brothers, sister, sister-in-law, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, relatives and friends, to whom deepest sympathy is extended. Julie was predeceased by her father Jack.
Julie’s Funeral Mass took place in St. Patrick’s Church, Craanford on Thursday, 6th January 2022 and afterwards, Julie’s remains were laid to rest in the adjoining Cemetery.

Deepest Sympathy: Deepest Sympathy is extended to children Annette, Linda and Gavin, son in law Greg, grandchildren Barry, Shane and Ross, great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends on the death of Brendan (Benny) Crossan, (Bayside, Dublin 13 and late of Market Sq., Bailieborough, Co. Cavan), who passed away peacefully at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, on Friday, December 24th, 2021. Brendan was predeceased by his wife Kathleen .
Brendan’s Funeral Mass took place on Friday, December 31st, 2021in the Church of the Resurrection, Bayside.

Cavan/ Bailieborough. Co. Cavan, who passed away peacefully, at the residence of her daughter Mary and son in law Mervyn Parr, at Cornanaff, Bailieborough, Co. Cavan on Friday, December 31st, 2021. Mary was predeceased by her husband George.
Mary’s Funeral Service took place in Drung Parish Church on Sunday, January 2nd , 2022 with burial afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.

Leanne on Fire!!: Leanne Kiernan got the New Year off to the best possible start when she scored a hat-trick in six second half minutes to help Liverpool Ladies to a 6—0 away win over Blackburn Rovers Ladies. The Bailieborough native has now brought her tally for the season to 10 goals scored. With half the season gone Liverpool Ladies now lead the Championship by 5 points. Next up is Watford Ladies on Sunday afternoon next.
