Happy Retirement Pat: Bailieborough Development Association want to wish Pat Murtagh, General Services Supervisor, Cavan County Council, a well deserved long and Happy retirement. Pat has been working from the Business Centre since renovations at Bailieborough Courthouse began in 2017.
Pat joined Cavan County Council in 1983 as a Craftworker in the Area Office in Bailieborough. He was promoted to a General Services Supervisor in 2005 following the retirement of his predecessor John Coyle. He continued to work in the Area Office in Bailieborough until the establishment of the Cootehill/Bailieborough Municipal District in 2015. He has attended at the Courthouse in Cootehill and The Business Centre.
A real family man, married to Marguerite with two wonderful sons, he has also managed to successfully run the family farm in his spare time, even finding time in his lunch hour to keep up with activities in the Marts online. A great fan of the Weather and Football he rarely misses a trip to Breffni Park. A man of many talents his Irish Dancing classes should prove worthwhile as Pat looks forward to enjoying the freedom to travel again with his beloved Marguerite and many friends.

St. Annes: Returning to Mass: The Government on Thursday last, announced a plan for the relaxation of restrictions in the coming weeks. The following is a summary of the relaxationsof restrictions relevant to Church activities: From Monday next, May 11th: Public Mass returns. It is advised that other religious ceremonies, such as Communions and Confirmations, should not take place at this time.
Funerals: Fifty mourners permitted at a Funeral. Related events, either before or after, should not take place.
Weddings: Fifty guests permitted at a wedding. For celebrations/receptions, a maximum of six people for indoor gatherings and fifteen people for outdoor gatherings. The number allowed attend a wedding reception indoors, rises to 25 from June 7th. (This means that while 50 guests may attend a Wedding Mass, a much smaller number may only attend the reception).
For the first month that Masses return, parishioners ought to consider attending one of the daily Masses, rather than a weekend Mass—to help ease the pressure.
More information on how the Parish will manage these arrangements, will be announced next weekend.
The Bishop has granted permission for the resumption of Baptisms, with a limited attendance confined to parents and godparents.
Mass can be heard on the radio at 107.8FM in the Bailieborough area and 92FM in Shercock.
All Masses and Parish Funerals can be viewed on the Parish webcam or can be heard by tuning in the radio to 107.8 F.M.

Deepest Sympathy: Deepest Sympathy is extended to wife Mary, children: Vincent, Veronica, Anthony, Aidan and Martin on the death of John Anthony Clarke, late of Lakeland, Tunnyduff, Bailieborough, Co. Cavan, who passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 25th , 2021. John Anthony will be sadly missed by his loving family, daughters-in-law Patrice, Geraldine, Annette and Rosie and son-in-law Aodhagan, his adored grandchildren Rachel, Conor, AnnaMay, Hugh, Darren, Kieran, Chloe, Aoife and Darragh, sisters MaryRose, Philomena, Kathleen, Pauline and Margaret, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours and many friends. John Anthony was pre-deceased by his parents John and Kathleen and brothers Eugene and Paddy.
John Anthony’s Funeral Mass took place in St. Brigid’s Church, Knockbride West on Wednesday, April 28th and following which, his remains were laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery.
Trocaire: Please return your Trocaire contributions to the parish office as soon as possible. This year, the focus is on helping refugees in South Sudan.

Moybologue Historical Society: After spending the autumn and winter under wraps, the covers are off at Moybologue for Spring 2021 and we are delighted with the finished historic stonework conservation project funded by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.
National Monuments Service – Archaeology.
These ruins have stood here as a marker of our ancestors and heritage for hundreds of years, on a site that’s been inhabited for well over a thousand years, and thanks to the support of the #CMF2020, they’re preserved for future generations to visit and enjoy.
