Vandalism: More wanton vandalism, this time to the plaque recently put in place at the ‘Tree of Hope’ planted beside the Town Lake. Some members of our community obviously don’t appreciate others feelings. A sad reflection of the times we live in!
Bailieborough Tidy Towns: Bailieborough Tidy Towns have set up a Go Fund Me page. Due to Covid we couldn’t have our annual Christmas draw. All donations will go towards the hanging baskets, flowers on the roundabouts and to replace trees and hedging stolen from the Cavan road and also to do some drainage work.The link is

St. Annes: Current Covid-19 Restrictions: Parish Webcam: The webcam is giving trouble. We have been advised to update our system to fibre optic broadband and this will happen over the next fortnight. Unfortunately, this increases our monthly bill to the webcam company. The webcam is now a neccessity and is much appreciated by parishioners. Sadly, it also has to be paid for. This is a gentle reminder, that your financial support is needed more than ever at this time if we are to pay our bills and maintain our current level of service to you all.
Remember that Mass can be heard on the radio at 107.8FM in the Bailieborough area and 92FM in Shercock.
Feast of St. Blaise: The blessing will be given on the webcam/radio at Masses next weekend and at Mass on the Feast Day itself Wednesday, February 3rd. It is not possible to give individual blessings at this time.
Public Masses are suspended until at least March 5th. All Masses and Parish Funerals can be viewed on the Parish webcam or can be heard by tuning in the radio to 107.8 F.M.
Due to the new restrictions, only six guests may participate in a wedding. At present only 10 people may attend a Funeral. No baptisms may take place at the present time.

Deepest Sympathy: Deepest Sympathy is extended to daughters Pauline and Ann, sons Tony and Martin, sisters Margaret and Nora, sons-in-law Dessie Connolly and Paddy Monahan, grandchildren Stephen, Rebecca, Pairic, Sarah and Caolan, great-granddaughter, Mila, brothers in-law Dermot Reilly and Michéal Neasy, sister in-law Kathleen Smith, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends on the death of Kathleen McCourt (née Smith), McSwiney Street, Dundalk, Co. Louth and formerly of Tunnyduff, Bailieborough, Co. Cavan, who passed away peacefully, in the loving care of the staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda on Friday, January 22nd. Kathleen was predeceased by her husband Gerry, parents John-Bernard and Katie, and brothers Jim and Benny.
Kathleen’s Funeral Mass took place in St. Nicholas’ Church, Dundalk on Monday, January 25th followed by burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Dundalk.
St. Vincent DePaul: Due to Level 5 restrictions, the St. Vincent DePaul Shop ‘Vincents’ on Main St, will be closed for the foreseeable future. The Society ask that you hold onto any donations you may have, until the shop re-opens. Please do not leave any donations outside of the shop as they will be subjected to the elements and will have to be disposed of. The Society look forward to taking them in, when the shop re-opens.

Bailieborough Group of Parishes: As lockdown has returned, we thought we would return to ‘Word at Noon’ from Monday-Friday each week. We hope these daily readings and reflections will be of some help in this tough time.

Regretted Death: Deepest Sympathy is extended to wife Hazelene, sons and daughters Lynne, David, Bradley, Duane, Dawne and Andrea, brother Roy, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends on the death of Winston Turner, Lear, Bailieborough, Co. Cavan, who passed away peacefully at Cavan General Hospital on Tuesday, January 26th, 2021. Winston was predeceased by his sister Noelene.
Winston’s Funeral Service took place in Corglass Presbyterian Church on Thursday, January 28th followed by cremation afterwards in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan.

Betty was predeceased by her husband Johnnie.
Betty’s Funeral Mass took place in St. Anne’s Church, Bailieborough on Thursday, January 28th following which her remains were laid to rest in St Brigid’s Cemetery, Knockbride West (Tunnyduff).
