P.T.O. for information on how to’ Register with the VIS Website’
How Does the Volunteering Info Service (VIS) Website Work?
The ‘Group/Organisation’ wishing to access suitable volunteers registers its details on the Website. Once you register your details you will receive an email with more information and your password/key which will then allow you to post and upload the volunteer vacancy you have.
The ‘Volunteer’ can register their details online and search the Website to see what vacancies are available in their area. If they are interested in a particular vacancy, they apply on the website and an email is automatically sent to that group to express your interest. The group arranges to meet with the potential volunteer and it is the group’s responsibility then to organise Garda vetting/reference checks, if required.
In some cases were a volunteer is not computer literate or may need further assistance in identifying the area of work they are interested in then a consultation can be arranged with the Cavan ‘VIS’ to help guide them towards a suitable placement.

- Placement Service to individuals who wish to volunteer some of their free time;
