Bailieboro Drama Group: The Bailieborough Drama Group presents a night of Drama in the Bailie Hotel on Saturday evening next, October 30th at 8 pm.

‘The Sacred Heart’s Right Hand Man’ by Liz O’Hanlon and with a cast of Fergal Donnelly and Charlene Cadden.

Millrace Drama Group present ‘Recycled’ written and performed by Irene Yore and ‘Directors Nightmare’ by Mickey Dunne and performed by Liam Daly and Mickey (as seen on T.V.) Dunne.

Mains Flushing: Water Outage: Mains flushing may cause supply disruptions to the water supply in Bailieborough, Killinkere and surrounding areas. Works are scheduled to take place daily from 8.00am until 8.00pm until Friday, October 29th. Irish Water recommend that you allow 2—3 hours after the estimated restoration time for your supply to fully return.

Halloween Fright Night: A huge ‘Thank You’ to all the volunteers in Bailieborough who gave their time to make “Fright for your Lights” night happen. From the scarers to the tent builders, car parkers and to the public, thank you for your support in making these community events happen.

Mass of Remembrance: We will remember all those who died in our Parish during the past 12 months at the Vigil and Sunday Mass on the 13/14 November. The names of the deceased will be read aloud at each Mass.

Deepest Sympathy: Deepest Sympathy is extended to husband, Sean and children, Sean (Jnr), Patrick, Rosemary, Ailish and Fiona on the death of Elizabeth (Betty) Nugent (née Smith) Ballyglasheen, Kilsheelan, Clonmel, Co Tipperary and late of Bailieborough, Co Cavan who passed away at her home in the company of her loving family on Thursday, 21st  October 2021. Betty will be  sadly missed by her loving family, brothers Francis and J.J, sisters Anne, Kathleen and Julie. Her dearly loved grandchildren, Shauna, Makala, Conor, Josh, Sean Tom, Jimmy, Katelyn and Scott and Eve, daughters in law Marian and Brid son in law Eelco, sisters in law Breda and Kathleen, brothers in law Seamus and Pat, nieces, nephews relatives and friends  

Betty’s Funeral Mass took place in St.Mary’s Church, Gambonsfield, Kilsheelan, Clonmel on Sunday, October 24th and afterwards Betty’s remains were laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery.

Bags of clothes can be dropped off in the School on Monday 8th  November and Tuesday 9th  November from 9.20am to 3.00pm or Tuesday 9th  November 7.00pm to 8.00pm. Thank you for your support.

 Sosad/ Grubs Up—Homeless Services: Charity ‘Bedpush’: A Bucket collection will take place in Tesco, Bailieborough on Saturday, October 30th and on Sunday, November 7th, a Charity ‘Bedpush’ will take place from Shercock to Bailieborough from 11.00am to 2.00pm. This event will be raising much needed funds for people with Mental Health issues and also helping to feed our homeless. We need your help, if anyone would like to join in and help with the bed push it would be greatly appreciated.

Parents Plus: Early years programme: A practical and positive parenting course promoting confidence, learning and good behaviour in young children aged 1 to 6 years. This is a six-week course, taking place every Friday morning from 9.30am to 12 noon commencing on Friday, November 12th and ending on Friday, December 17th  in Bailieborough Courthouse. Bailieborough Group of Parishes: Assuming restrictions allow for it, we are planning to start a parents and toddlers group on Fridays in Knockbride Church Hall beginning on November 5th. It will take place weekly between 10am-12noon. The hope is to create a safe space where parents can chat and support one another, children can play together, and tea and toast can be shared together! We are on the lookout for suitable toys, so if you have anything that might be of use to the group please contact Jenny or Ian.  

Sunday services are at 9:30am in Mullagh and Shercock, 10:45 am in Bailieborough, 12noon in Knockbride. Audio from the sermon will be available later on Sundays on our YouTube channel.  Face masks, hand sanitizing, and social distancing will still be required on Sunday mornings.

Regretted Death: Deepest Sympathy is extended to wife, Máirín, children Orla, Donal, John and Fionnuala, their spouses and partners, Emma, Daniel and Liam, brothers and sisters, Jim, Anne, Brian, Victor, Joe and Una, grandchildren, Cara, Conor, Arlo, Torin, Cillian, Cormac and Oisín, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours, and former colleagues at Enterprise Ireland on the death of Owen McBreen, (Dunboyne, Co. Meath, formerly of Taghart, Co. Cavan and Trim, Co. Meath), who passed away peacefully on Wednesday,  20th  October 2021, at the Mater Hospital, Dublin. Owen was one of the players on the Bailieborough Shamrocks side that were Cavan Senior Football 1964 Championship winners.

Owen’s Funeral Mass took place in S.S. Peter and Paul’s Church, Dunboyne on Saturday, October 23rd  and afterwards Owen’s remains were laid to rest in Rooske Cemetery, Dunboyne. 

East Cavan Swim Club: Welcome to our committee for 2021/2022, elected at our AGM on Friday, 23rd  October.

Thank you to our outgoing committee for all the hard work in getting our swimmers back to the water this year.

A very special word of thanks to our outgoing Secretary, Sinead Cooney for 6 years of dedicated service as secretary during some of the busiest years for our club – a job well done and appreciated by all! We are also deeply indebted to outgoing committee members Jennifer Williamson and David Kinnear for many years of commitment to our club in the roles of treasurer/PTL organiser, and Vice Chair/Children’s Officer, not to mention several cake sales and trips away!

We welcome especially our new committee member and Secretary, Roisin Taaffe.

We are grateful for the spirit of volunteering which allows our club to function so that our members can continue to swim with their club.

East Cavan swimmers are delighted to be back training in Bailieborough Leisure Centre and are looking forward to their new season. Some competitive swimmers have already been back to competition in Ulster, with Anna Behme, Alana Carling and Sadhbh Warren attending the Future Challengers meet in Craigavon on 8th  October and the older swimmers, Johann and Wilhelm Behme, Finn and Oscar Longmore, Adrienne Keuck, Kate Kierans, Lian Moore, Grainne Warren, Aoibheann Taaffe, Roisin Pierce and Kerry Buckland Morris attending the Aspiring Champions meet on 16th /17th  October in Lisburn.
The East Cavan Swim Club AGM was held on Friday 22nd  October and welcome the incoming committee. The club are extremely grateful to the outgoing committee for the dedication and commitment to the club and swimmers over the years, especially for all the work in getting the children back to swimming this year.

Bowls: Bowls have recommenced in Tunnyduff Hall on Thursday nights at 8.00pm. New members welcome.
