East Cavan Gaels:Club News 24th November  2014

Under 12; The replay of the U12 League Shield Final v St. Felim’s proved to be equally as exciting as the first encounter. Again the sides could not be separated after the hour, so extra time was played and two quick fire goals were enough for St. Felim’s to prevail on the night.

We must give credit to our boys who have hurled long and hard at this grade all year beginning with the Spring league which began, in the snow!, in February, through the U13 league in the Summer and this U12 league. A bright future on the hurling field awaits these boys.

Under 14; Our last opportunity for silverware this year falls to our U14s who play Annalee Gaels in the Championship Shield Final this coming Wednesday on the 3G at Breffni at 6.30pm. Best of luck to all involved.

Under 8/10; The indoor season is up and running with both groups, Kingscourt and Bailieborough, hurling away on Tuesdays and Fridays respectively. The first of our Winter blitzes takes us to Carrickmacross Phoenix Centre next Saturday 4-5.30 for a series of games. We host our first blitz on Saturday 5th December in Kingscourt.

Primary Schools Hurling; The first of our Primary Schools hurling Blitzes takes place on Friday 5th December in Kingscourt Community Centre. The first blitz will be for boys from 1st and 2nd class from each of our catchment schools.

Training times and venues; Under 12/14/16;

Barring a draw on Wednesday these groups will now take a well-earned break and training will return towards the end of January 2015. Contact Kathryn 087 244 1371 for any information required. Registration for these groups will also be in January.

Under 8/10; Kingscourt Community Centre every Tuesday 5.30-6.45 for all U8/10. €2 each.
